Music, the bond between students all over the world
The magazine VIVE ARLANZA, April 2015

The experience which has implemented six years ago, exchange students at IES Valle del Arlanza with a grammar school in the Czech Republic is repeated, but with the assumption that students will be connected with music as a Bond of Union.

Representation of the Grammar School in Jihlava in the Czech Republic was received by the mayor of Villa Ducal, José María Barrasa. At this meeting there was an exchange of gifts and mutual gratitude. Coordinator of the exchanges and two professors from the aforementioned Czech grammar school councilor expressed their gratitude for the actions of the City Council and the implementation of exchanges between students. Also for the desired number of students that visited the school Escuela de la Música de la Asociación Musical de Lerma.

Before happily signed requests, the mayor of Lerma has pledged to provide contact with the director of the musical association, to attend school on that day, the group will try. Barrasa also commented that pride that Hall felt the musical interest in Lerma, confirming that the council, led by "one of the greatest joys to support economically.

A group of 22 students, three professors will be moved to the cities to share experiences and interests. As a musical knowledge will bring great composer Gustav Mahler. The same design will make a visit to our students in Jihlava, and our contribution will be to Antonio de Cabezón, who played the organ, harp and the Renaissance composer.

Project Erasmus in Valle del Arlanza
Diario de Burgos, 18th March 2015

I had heard about those projects before, but never so directly and this project took place in IES Valle del Arlanza, Lerma. The group of Czech students spent a couple of days with students from Lerma and I was pleasantly surprised by the level of performances and seriousness of their activities.

Those students came from Jihlava and this word sounds like spring. Spring in Jihlava! I was really surprised by participation of students and teachers and also by their nice coexistence. At least I learnt about Czech Republic more than I had learnt in my entire life and if there is something I envy it’s their level of English and ability to speak in public.

And finally, as it was said a lot with superficiality about what is going on or not in schools, here is  one excellent example, what the education in future should look like and how some of the teachers really know how to participate in these very ennoble activities. And Czech confection is really good, too, especially while listening to Vltava (famous composition by B. Smetana). Good luck for secondary grammar school and its teachers.
