Transnational Project Meeting 2

Czech Republic, Gymnázium Jihlava, Jihlava
22nd November, Sunday
  • Trip of the Spanish teachers who take part in the mobility (Salomé Lozano, headmistress; Raquel Araus, teacher; Adolfo Retamero, teacher) from Lerma to the airport Adolfo Suárez – Madrid Barajas by coach of the company Alsa.

  • Trip by plane to the airport Vaclav Havel in Prague. A car was rented to move from Prague to the city of Jihlava.

  • Arrival to Jihlava at about 19:00. The Spanish teachers were welcome by the Czech coordinator, Barbora Voldrichova. At dinner time, the following week’s schedule was planned.

23rd November, Monday
  • The Spanish teachers were welcome and greeted by the Gymnázium headmaster, Mr Pavel Suk. Visit around Gymnazium Jihlava and its facilities.

  • First meeting between Czech and Spanish teachers involved in the Project to talk about the musical details to be performed in the next visit in March 2016.

  • Reception at Jihlava’s Townhall by the local authorities: Milan Kolár (vice-major) and Tomás Koukal (Education Counsellor). Exhibition of the project and evaluation of a posible scenery for a musical performance of the Spanish students in the city townhall.

  • Walk around the city centre of Jihlava, guided by four Czech students of Gymnázium (Katerina Strechovska, Eva Svobodová, Jan Krondráf and Filip Marecek)

  • Meeting of the Czech and Spanish teachers to keep on talking about different aspects of the Project.

24th November, Tuesday
  • Arrival to Gymnázium and chat in Spanish between the oldest students of Spanish (year 6A6) and the Spanish teachers.

  • Visit to the Muzeum Vysociny and the Café Muzeum. Setting of the activity “Gustav Mahler prints in Jihlava”, with the Muzeum Vysociny coordinator, Mrs Cermáková, which will be performed by both the Spanish and the Czech students. It will be a combination of cultural and musical activities around the city of Jihlava.

  • Visit to the Local Theatre of Jihlava, accompanied by two Czech teachers of Gymnázium, Jirina Ustohalova and Jitka Kreminová. Evaluation of a possible scenery for a musical performance of the Spanish students.

  • Meeting at Gymnázium with the teacher Sona Jurkovicová, art and drawing teacher, to prepare a combined activity of artistic and musical skills for the Spanish students, joining painting and Bedrich Smetana musical works.

25th November, Wednesday
  • Arrival to Gymnázium and discussion about the different activities of the Project.

  • Visit to the regional government of Vysocina. Welcoming by the regional educational authorities to show the project to them (Jana Fialová, Education Provincial Director; Marie Kruziková, Culture Provincial Director; Kamil Ubr, Education Department Director)

  • Visit to Hotel Gustav Mahler. Finally, the hotel was chosen as the main scenery for the big musical performance by the Spanish students.

  • Visit to the city of Havlickuv Brod. Attendance to a cello and bass concert in the hall of the New Townhall.

26th November, Thursday
  • Arrival to Gymnázium and debate about different activities of the Project.

  • Lecture by Thomas Graumann (Holocaust survivor, one of the children saved by Nicolas Winton) together with many Czech students and teachers.

  • Visit to the school choir rehearsal of Gymnázium Jihlava, with the teachers Dagmar Nemecková and Eliska Vyhnálková.

  • Concert by the students of Jihlava Music School.

27th November, Friday
  • Arrival to Gymnázium and debate about different activities of the Project.

  • Visit to the local old people’s home in Jihlava. Visit around the facilities and final agreement to perform a small show for the residents and workers.

  • Setting of the final programme of activities for next March mobility, keeping in mind that some changes could be made.

  • Farewell of the authorities, teachers and students of Gymnázium to the Spanish teachers.

28th November, Saturday
  • Departure from Jihlava to Vaclav Havel Aiport, Prague, by car.

  • Trip by plane from Prague airport to Adolfo Suárez – Madrid Barajas airport.

  • Trip from Madrid to Lerma by coach.
