PROGRAMME OF ACTIVITIES

Saturday, 5th March

  • Arrival of the Spanish group to Vienna Airport Wien-Schwechat (Austria). There, they will be welcome by the Czech teachers Jitka Kremínová, Jiřina Ustohalová and three Czech students.

  • Visit to the old town of Vienna, with the Czech teachers and students.

  • 17:00 – trip to Jihlava by coach.

  • 19:00-20:00 – meeting with the hosting families at the main entrance of Gymnázium Jihlava.

  • Meeting between the Czech and Spanish teachers in Atrium restaurant to talk and clarify the latest details about the programme of activities.

 

Sunday, 6th March

  • 9:00 – arrival at Gymnázium and outing towards the city of České Budějovice.

  • 11:30 – visit to the beer brewery of Budvar in České Budějovice.

  • 12:30 – visit to the old town of České Budějovice guided by several Czech students.

  • Free time for lunch.

  • 14:00 – trip to the city of Český Krumlov, visit to the old town guided by several Czech students.

  • 16:30 – trip to Jihlava.

  • 19:00 – arrival to Jihlava and meeting with the hosting families.

 

 

Monday, 7th March

  • 8:00 – arrival at Gymnázium.

  • Welcoming by Pavel Suk, Headmaster of Gymnázium Jihlava (room A1Za).

  • 8:45 – guided visit to the Gymnázium, accompanied by several Czech students.

  • 10:00-12:35 – rehearsal of the musical programme to develop and perform in the music room.

  • 12:45 – lunch in the school lunch-room with the Czech students.

  • 14:00-17:00 - music workshop (coordinated by the music teacher Dagmar Němečková, accompanied by several Czech students, about the use of boomwhackers) / plastic arts workshop (coordinated by the plastic arts teacher Soňa Jurkovičová and helped by several Czech students, with the main topic of Bedrich Smetana’s work named “Vltava”).

 

Tuesday, 8th March

  • 8:00 – arrival at Gymnázium.

  • 8:00-8:45 – time to talk about the project’s details.

  • 8:45 – outing to the Main Square of Jihlava.

  • 9:30 – guided visit to the City Townhall.

  • 10:30 – visit to Jihlava’s old town with the Czech students.

  • 11:30 – lunch in the restaurant of the Hotel Gustav Mahler, where the main performance will take place.

  • 13:00-16:00 - music workshop / plastic arts workshop (the students will exchange the workshop they made the previous day)

 

Wednesday, 9th March

  • 8:00 – arrival at Gymnázium.

  • 8:05 – outing by coach to the city of Hradec Králové.

  • 10:00-12:00 - guided visit to the piano factory C. Bechstein Europe. Performance of some musical pieces in the piano workshop.

  • 12:00 – trip by coach to the city of Kutná Hora.

  • Lunch – sandwich on the bus.

  • 13:30-16:00 – visit to Sedlec Ossuary, to Saint Barbora’s Cathedral and the city old town – with several Czech students.

  • Free time.

  • Trip back to Jihlava.

 

Thursday, 10th March

  • 8:00 – arrival at Gymnázium.

  • 8:00-8:45 – preparation and rehearsal of the exhibition about Antonio de Cabezón (posters, projector, CD/DVD) in the music room.

  • 8:55-9:40 – exhibition about Antonio de Cabezón, Spanish Baroque and the Spanish Baroque music in Spanish language, for Czech students who study Spanish as a second foreign language. Performance of “Cantigas” by the Regional Dancing Group and the guitar quartet. Performance of the Spanish guitar piece “Malagueña”.

  • 10:00-10:40 – Repetition of the exhibition about Baroque and the performances, but in English language, for students who don’t study Spanish.

  • 11:30 lunch at restaurant Na Hradbách.

  • 13:30 – workshop in Muzeum Vysočiny – “Gustav Mahler prints in Jihlava” – in Spanish, with some Czech students. Coordinated by Mrs Čermáková, proposing a combination of musical and cultural activities in different corners of the city of Jihlava.  

  • Visit to the House-Museum of Gustav Mahler.

  • 17:00 – back to Gymnázium.

 

Friday, 11th March

  • 8:00 – arrival at Gymnázium.

  • 8:00 – 11:40 – rehearsal of the music repertoir in the music room.

  • 11:40 – lunch in restaurant Dělnický dům.

  • 13:00 – visit to the Regional Parliament of Vysočina with some Czech students, welcoming by the Education Province Director, Mrs. Jana Fialová. Performing of “Cantigas” by the Regional Dancing Group and the Spanish guitar quartet. Performing of some more pieces by the Spanish guitar players.

  • Free afternoon with the Czech students.

 

Saturday, 12th March

  • 8:15 – arrival at Gymnázium and outing by coach to Prague.

  • 10:00 – visit to the old town of Prague with several old Czech students of Gymnázium, who are now students of the University of Prague.

  • Free time for lunch.

  • 16:30 – trip back to Jihlava.

  • 18:00 – 18:30 – arrival at Jihlava.

 

Sunday, 13th March

  • 7:00 – arrival at Gymnázium, outing by coach to Lidice, city totally devastated by the nazis during the Second World War.

  • 10:30-11:30 – visit to Památník Lidice Museum. 

  • 12:00 – trip to Terezín, old fortress and nazi concentration camp during the Second World War.

  • 14:00 – 17:30 – visit to Malá Pevnost and Muzeum ghetta in Terezín. Clarinet performance of a small part of the Original Soundtrack of the film “Schindler’s list”, in front of the tribute monument of the holocaust victims.

  • 17:40 – trip back to Jihlava.

  • 20:00 – arrival at Jihlava.

Monday, 14th March

  • 8:00 – arrival at Gymnázium.

  • 8:15-12:15 – dress rehearsal of the whole repertoir to be performed in Gustav Mahler Hotel Theatre in the evening.

  • 12:30 – lunch in the restaurant of Gustav Mahler Hotel.

  • Free time.

  • 15:30 – dress rehearsal before the main performance.

  • 18:00-20:00 – main performance in Gustav Mahler Hotel Theatre of the whole repertoire for students, parents and open to the public.

 

Tuesday, 15th March

  • 8:00 – arrival at Gymnázium.

  • 9:00 – rehearsal in the asylum “Stříbrné terasy” in Jihlava.

  • 10:00 – performance in the asylum “Stříbrné terasy” in Jihlava for the residents.

  • Lunch in Parlament restaurant.

  • Free time.

  • 17:00 – arrival at Gymnázium to prepare the exhibition about Antonio de Cabezón and the Baroque, and a part of the musical show, for teachers and hosting families.

  • 18:00 – exhibition and show for Czech parents and students.

  • Farewell party, presentation of the Project – final products of the plastic arts workshop, potos, videos, pictures with the hosting families,…

  • Surprise in front of the Gymnázium gate (fire juggling representing Lerma’s Baroque Festival)

 

Wednesday, 16th March

  • 6:45 – arrival at Gymnázium.

  • Farewell.

  • 7.05 – outing by coach to Vienna Airport.

  • 12:30 – Trip Vienna – Madrid by plane.

  • 15:30 – arrival at Adolfo Suárez airport – Madrid (Barajas).

  • 19:00 – arrival by coach to Lerma and welcoming by the Spanish families.
