Day in Lerma

welcome at the Town Hall, tour of the town, preparations for the concert in the concert hall La Piedad

 

On Wednesday the 4th of March we met at the school as usual and we went to the Town Hall where we were welcomed by the mayor of the town of Lerma. Then he took us to the local museum. Before that we sang to the mayor in the Town Hall atrium. The mayor gave each of us a badge with the emblem of the town of Lerma. Then we went to the town. We visited the church Colegiata de San Pedro, where we sang again. After that we went to a central square, where was the traditional market.

Then we went to the music school, where we practiced till the lunch time the repertoire of our evening concert, and also the song called Škoda lásky (Beer Barrel Polka), which we needed for our Sunday evening dedicated to Polka.

In the afternoon the Czech students who lived outside Lerma joined the students living in Lerma and went to their host families to have lunch, rest and gather strenght for the concert. At five o´clock we met in the concert hall La Piedad for a final rehearsal. Then we had a concert, where we sang our repertoire consisting of songs of the Czech composers, we played our solos and danced the typical dances of the region of Horácko.
