Goodbye to Lerma

On Sunday, March 8, after the return from Santo Domingo de Silos and from Burgos was organised farewell party in the school. Our host families made refreshment for us and we teached them typical Czech dance – polka. We danced to well-known song “Škoda lásky”, in Spain better known as American “Beer Barrel Polka” or Spanish version “Barrilito de Cerveza”, but Spaniards didn’t know that the song is of the Czech origin. The girls taking part in long-term mobilities in Lerma prepared a speech about history of polka in Spanish for participants of the party. We also took pictures with our host families.

On Monday, March 8, came that awkward moment to say goodbye. When the Spaniards said on Sunday they would cry when we leave, we thought it was a joke. We found out on Monday they thought it seriously. All of them really started to cry! But anyway, we had to leave. The way back home to Jihlava was calm and without any big troubles.

Handover of Certificates

On Thursday, March 5, we prepared a speech about Gustav Mahler. After the end of our lecture and samples from our repertoire, Adolfo, the project coordinator from Spanish school asked us to stay in library because he had a little surprise for us. He thanked us for our entire work and appreciated our performance and interest in project theme. Then he handed over specially made certificates, which will mention us participation in this project and eight nice days nicely spent in Lerma.
