Escuela de Música de la Asociación Cultural Unión Musical de Lerma

 

Music school in Lerma devotes to childrens who are at least three years old. There in no age limit. It starts with education of rythm and then music theory and playing the instrument it self. School is open to all styles of music (classical, modern, folk, pop, rock, jazz, electronic music, etc...) but there is opportunity to study onely a few music instruments. Wind instruments (flute, trombone, tube, clarinet, oboe, saxophone, trumpet, wald horn) and rythmic instruments (percussion and eufonium). String instruments (which are the most important, such as violin) are not tought and they even aren't in Lerma, so HSGJ had to bring violin and violoncello with them.

Music school is located in place of former dominican monastery called Santo Domingo de Guzmán, where used to be our partner school. La banda de Larma rehearses there. When the school was moved to new place in the edge of Lerma, the old monastery was taken just by the music school.

We used spaces of Music school for rehearsing songs for our main concert. We also rehearsed the song Škoda lásky (Beer Barrel Polka), which we presented to Spanish students and their parents on Sunday, 8th March at a goodbye party. In the hall, where we have been rehearsing, were also plenty of different music instruments. Of course, we were not able to resist and we tried out all of them. Music school also let us to use their piano and all the other essentials for our concerts in Lerm and surrounding areas.
